Booster Club Meeting
November 9, 2010
7:00 PM
I. Call to Order Susan Reichstein called to order the regular meeting of the Taylor PlayMakers at 7:00 PM on November 9 in the Black Box.
II. Approval of Minutes Minutes from October 12, 2010 were approved.
III. Treasury Report Heike Dees All income and expenses were reported for the month leaving a balance of approximately $7000.00.
IV. Balkan Women Recap Mr. Woods - presented us with a budget breakdown ending with a profit of $1000. He was very pleased with the production and emphasized the importance of starting out the year with a successful first show.
V. Junior High Theatre Showcase This will take place on Monday, November 15, 2010. The Jr. High Students from the area schools will arrive at 4:00 to rehearse and be assisted by our Taylor Theatre students. The performance will begin at 7:00 PM, Concessions will be sold, there will be no charge to attend and dinner will be provided for our students by the booster parents.
VI. Playwriting 360 Mr. Woods December 2nd - Provides a showcase for the classes the Alley Theatre has been giving to our students. They are getting a great deal out of this writing class which is new to us this year and helpful to students when reading new plays.
VII. Pygmalion December 10th This production will be correlated with Morton Ranch High School. There will be five acts I, II and III will be produced by Morton Ranch, and IV & V will be for Taylor High School. This will be challenging and we look forward to the final production. We will be working on bits and pieces it is an in-class production. Please see Mr. Woods for any available volunteer opportunities that your student can participate in on this project.
VIII. Texas Thespian Festival November 17 20 This trip will be discussed at length for all students participating after the regular Booster Meeting.
VIIII. Progressive Dinner December 17 This is the annual Thespian Holiday Party which is coordinated by the officers. The students will be meeting at parents homes for appetizers, dinner, and lastly a dessert and gift exchange. The students will be put into groups to attend the various volunteer homes throughout the evening. More information as we get closer to the date.
X. Into the Woods January 27-30 - Scenery automation will be used so there will be tech challenges. Requesting parent volunteers to help with this project. A notice will be sent out for specific needs such as sewing, dying, etc. We will be looking for interested parties to help fund the automation. The music has begun... work calls may be needed over the holiday break which will be posted on the web and only if students are available (not mandatory).
